— Frequently asked

Questions about jazz and hip-hop at Bravo.

01What's the difference between jazz and hip-hop?
Jazz comes from theatrical traditions — kicks, leaps, isolations with musical theater bones. Hip-hop comes from street and club styles — groove, bounce, and rhythmic foundations. Most Bravo students take both.
02Is there an age my child is too old to start?
No. We have first-time jazz students at age 14 and beyond. Stage dance rewards effort and personality at every age.
03Do students perform in costume?
Yes — every showcase and musical features full costuming. Costumes are coordinated through the studio.
04What should students wear to class?
Form-fitting movement clothes, jazz shoes for jazz, clean indoor sneakers for hip-hop. Hair pulled back.
